Most sports car owners don’t give enough thought to depreciation. As a rule of thumb, production sports cars depreciate a minimum of 10% per year. Although it’s true that certain rare hand-built cars can appreciate if they are not overproduced, this is most definitely the exception. Even rare cars will depreciate at the same rate as production cars if the manufacturer builds enough of the winning model to surpass market demand. Think of the 911/996 Carrera.
